When Dante is given his first mission as a liberator to save the soul of seventeen-year-old Aspen, he knows he’s got this. But Aspen reminds him of the rebellious life he used to live and is making it difficult to resist sinful temptations. Though Dante is committed to living clean for his girlfriend Charlie, this dude’s been a playboy for far too long…and old demons die hard.
With Charlie becoming the girl she was never able to be pre-makeover and Aspen showing him how delicious it feels to embrace his inner beast, Dante will have to go somewhere he never thought he’d return to in order to accomplish the impossible: save the girl he’s been assigned to, and keep the girl he loves.
What I Thought: What a killer sequel to follow after The Collector. Dante is back and hotter than ever, but this time he has an assignment from the Big Guy upstairs - liberate Aspen's soul. Dante doesn't really want to leave Charlie, but if he doesn't complete the assignment, then his shiny new liberator cuff will be taken away from him for good. So Dante goes to liberate Aspen - who is a female version of himself. But this story is a lot more than just trying to liberate Aspen's soul, so don't go into this story expecting it about Dante falling to old ways. It isn't really about that, and it gets much deeper and much more intense than you could ever imagine. The stakes are higher than ever and not everyone will make it out intact.
All our favourite characters are back, along with the ones we also hate and of course with the inclusion of some new ones too. If you loved The Collector, then you are going to love The Liberator too... Especially with the addition of some raunchy, sexy parts too. I almost died. It was... well wow.
The Good: There was so much more to this story than the synopsis suggests, which is a wicked nice surprise!
The Bad: It left on a killer cliffhanger!
