Released: January 28, 2014
Publisher: HarperTeen
SynopsisThe Scarlet Letter meets Minority Report in bestselling author Sophie Jordan's chilling new novel about a teenage girl who is ostracized when her genetic test proves she's destined to become a murderer.

When Davy Hamilton's tests come back positive for Homicidal Tendency Syndrome (HTS)-aka the kill gene-she loses everything. Her boyfriend ditches her, her parents are scared of her, and she can forget about her bright future at Juilliard. Davy doesn't feel any different, but genes don't lie. One day she will kill someone.

Only Sean, a fellow HTS carrier, can relate to her new life. Davy wants to trust him; maybe he's not as dangerous as he seems. Or maybe Davy is just as deadly.

The first in a two-book series, Uninvited tackles intriguing questions about free will, identity, and human nature.

What I Thought: OH MY LORDY. I was excited to read this wonderful title, but I did not expect to be completely blown away by just how amazing it really was!! Like honestly guys, BLEW MY MIND OKAY!

So Davy was quite annoying to start off with, I hate to admit it. She had a great life, which changed the instant she found out she was positive for HTS - and then her life was totally ruined, and she didn't deserve it to happen to her and she wasn't a killer etc etc. Except she gets marked pretty quickly for something that is actually pretty common these days (unfortunately!). Life is tough for those diagnoses with HTS, and some of them definitely deserve it. Some of them just act that way because they have been labelled that way, and the rest just deal the best they can.

Then Davy gets a bit of a second chance and it looks like things may actually start to look up despite her situation, but of course, the others with HTS see it the exact same way and are going to give her a heck of a hard time.

Of course there is a love interest, which actually works well despite the world they live in. Sean is big, scary and amazing - which takes Davy a very long time to come to terms with. Honestly, I fell in love - Sean has to be my new favourite book boyfriend!

Best part about this book? Really has to be the killer cliffhanger which left me gagging for more. Too bad it's only a two-book series hey?!

The Good: Absolutely loved the premise! Different, unique and super exciting!

The Bad: Waiting for the sequel! How long how long?!
